Welcome to Ottawa Dental Centre
Everything you need to know before your first visit.
What to expect at your first visit
Plan on about an hour for your first appointment. The visit is unhurried, and we use it to build a clear picture of your oral health before any treatment is recommended.
- A relaxed conversation about your dental history, concerns, and goals.
- A comprehensive exam, every tooth, your gums, jaw, and soft tissues.
- Digital X-rays as needed (a small fraction of the radiation of older systems).
- A professional cleaning if your gum health allows.
- A clear, written treatment plan with priorities and cost estimates.
What to bring
- Government-issued photo ID
- Insurance card or NIHB identifier (if applicable)
- List of current medications, allergies, and medical conditions
- Most recent dental X-rays from a previous clinic, if available
- Any previous treatment plans you would like a second opinion on
Insurance & payment options
Direct insurance billing
We bill most Ontario insurance plans directly so you only pay any co-payment owing on the day of your visit. We are also a registered NIHB provider for First Nations and Inuit clients.
CDCP-friendly
We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) for eligible patients. If you are not sure whether you qualify, our team can walk you through the criteria when you book.
Transparent fees
Our fees follow the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) suggested fee guide. We will always present a written estimate before any treatment begins, no surprise charges.
Payment plans
For larger treatment plans we offer flexible payment options to spread the cost. Ask us at your consultation and we will tailor a plan that fits your budget.
